1924 GS Sports 250cc

1924 GS Sports 250

This motor was originally found attached to the front section of the original frame, and was in complete and good running condition. Most of the needed parts to make a complete machine were made, including a complete rear frame section assembled from odd frame parts of a similar model, this required new sections of tube, and 9 welded joints to make it complete.

No gearbox was available, so like the 1924 Ladies' machine, an early GTP gearbox was fitted, the new rear frame section being made to suit this gearbox, unlike the Ladies' where an adapter plate was used. This model is interesting because of the exhaust system which was an adaption of the racing Velocette twostrokes of the era – 2 small megaphones entering a common expansion chamber.
